Blessings in a Backpack is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the weekend hunger gap for school-aged children across America, delivering more than 30 million hunger-free weekends since 2009.

Our Highland Park/Highwood IL chapter supports children every Friday throughout the school year by mobilizing communities and resources to provide them with nutritious food for the weekends. You can help us fuel futures and support our children's success in school and beyond.

Here's how we do it:

We provide food on the weekend for school-aged kids who are eligible for free and reduced-price lunches in District 112 in Highland Park and Highwood, Illinois.

Each week, our volunteers shop for food, and pack and deliver weekend food bags to local elementary and preschool sites. We also assist in stocking onsite pantries at the middle school and high school level.
